Jay-Z will perform the halftime show for Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music, and the musician announced the booking on Monday. This marks his first performance at the event despite his long association with the league.

His company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime show since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year extension to keep the role through 2029. Shows produced by Roc Nation have featured hip-hop and rap artists more frequently. Last year’s performance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara included Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Ricky Martin.

The 2022 Super Bowl in Los Angeles featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Guests included 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. Other recent headliners are Kendrick Lamar and SZA, Usher, and Rihanna.

Jay-Z has not performed at a Super Bowl before. He is currently touring to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The Jay-Z 30 Tour began with three shows at Yankee Stadium in July. He then played two nights in London and one in Paris in September.

His final scheduled concerts occurred on Oct. 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. These shows serve as a rehearsal for his upcoming halftime set. The rapper has won 25 Grammy Awards.
