India chased down New Zealand's target of 198 in 13.2 overs on Tuesday, winning the fifth-match Twenty20 International series by two games.

The visitors claimed a six-wicket victory in Wellington, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 113 off 39 balls and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi adding 45 off 19.

The opening pair built a 133-run stand in just 7.1 overs, a rate that dismantled the home bowling attack.

Jacob Duffy conceded 26 runs in his first over, and the pressure never eased from there.

Sharma hit nine fours and 11 sixes before falling to Kyle Jamieson. By the time he was out, India had already reached 178 for two in 10 overs.

Sooryavanshi, promoted to the top order after batting third in the previous match, provided the firepower early on with four fours and four sixes.

Captain Shreyas Iyer called the performance exceptional, noting he had never seen a batter reach a hundred in five overs at the international level.

New Zealand's innings was anchored by Daryl Mitchell, who scored 89 off 52 balls.

Mitchell adapted to the seam movement by moving around the crease and attacking short deliveries with strikes to the short square boundaries.

He finished with five fours and five sixes, while Finn Allen contributed 40 off 25 balls.

Bevon Jacobs added an unbeaten 39 from 23 balls as New Zealand posted 198 for their declared total.

India won the toss for the third consecutive match and chose to bowl first again, relying on seam from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh to restrict the hosts.
