Nordstrom Rack to open in Seminole after Sportsman's Warehouse closes

Shoppers in Seminole will see the Sportsman's Warehouse exit the 7967 113th Street North site in January 2027. The space will then be renovated to house a Nordstrom Rack, bringing discounted apparel and home goods to the Seminole City Center.

Construction bidding documents identify EMJ Construction as the general contractor for the 32,914-square-foot project. The renovation plan includes new interior finishes, partitions, and fixtures. Workers will also install updated electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Exterior improvements will feature canopies above the entrance and exit.

Sportsman's Warehouse opened its Seminole location in September 2022. The store sells hunting and fishing equipment, camping supplies, and outdoor apparel. It will close its doors on January 11, 2027. The retailer is currently offering a 25% discount on most merchandise, excluding guns, ammunition, and optics.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of the Nordstrom department store chain. The store will carry brands similar to those found in full-line Nordstrom locations. Merchandise is sourced from the parent company's stores and website, as well as from items purchased specifically for the Rack. Advertised discounts can reach 70%.

The company has served Tampa Bay shoppers since opening a full-line store at International Plaza in 2001. Its first regional Rack location opened at Walters Crossing in 2010. Subsequent stores followed in Brandon in October 2014 and in Clearwater, where the store occupies a former Sears Auto Center adjacent to Countryside Mall.

The new store will join existing tenants at Seminole City Center, including The Fresh Market, HomeGoods, LA Fitness, and Ulta Beauty. The shopping center has also seen recent changes in its dining options. Beach Pizza is open at 7724 113th Street North, and Pepe's Cantina is preparing to open at 7756 113th Street North in the former Maple Street Biscuit Company space.

Shake Shack will also replace Pieology Pizzeria at 1165 Park Boulevard. Nordstrom has not yet announced an opening date for the new Seminole store.
