The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections has confirmed that the final days of early voting will conclude on Sunday, November 1. Registered voters in the county can cast their ballots at any of eight designated locations between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. during this final stretch.
The office is urging residents who have already requested vote-by-mail ballots to deliver their completed envelopes to secure intake stations. These stations are currently available at all eight early voting sites. Trained attendants will monitor these drop boxes continuously during the 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. early voting hours to ensure ballots are properly received.
Once early voting ends on November 1, access to these secure ballot intake stations will be limited. The only location accepting vote-by-mail envelopes will be the Supervisor of Elections Office at 515 N. Main Street in Gainesville. That office will accept ballots on Monday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will remain open for ballot intake on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The eight early voting sites include the Supervisor of Elections Office, the Millhopper and Tower Road branch libraries in Gainesville, and the J. Wayne Reitz Union on the University of Florida campus. Other locations are the Hawthorne Community Center, the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center in Alachua, Santa Fe College, and the UF IFAS Extension Office in Newberry.
Voters must ensure their vote-by-mail ballots are physically received by the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Those who did not vote early and did not send a mail ballot must visit their assigned polling place on Tuesday, November 3. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Voters must be in line by the closing time to cast a ballot.
All voters are required to present valid photo and signature identification. The full list of acceptable ID and individual polling place assignments are available at VoteAlachua.gov. The Supervisor of Elections Office can also provide information by phone at 352-374-5252 during normal business hours.
