More than 1,000 entrepreneurs and investors gathered at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor on Tuesday to witness the launch of a new state innovation strategy. The event, known as the 2026 Entrepreneur Expo, was hosted by the Maryland Technology Development Corporation, or TEDCO.

Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson and TEDCO Chief Executive Officer Troy LeMaile-Stovall presented a package of legislative and financial proposals. The plan seeks to channel venture capital funds into emerging startups. Target sectors include life sciences, artificial intelligence, and clean technologies.

The initiative prioritizes the creation of high-skill jobs within the Baltimore metropolitan area. It also aims to strengthen financing networks for founders from minority and underrepresented communities. TEDCO leadership stated that the combination of public policy and strategic investment will help Maryland lead the future economy.

State officials said the strategy is designed to improve regional competitiveness against other major technology hubs in the United States. The agenda included business matchmaking sessions and panels on business scalability. Full details on the state financing agenda are available on the TEDCO 2026 Entrepreneur Expo portal.

Additional coverage of the local innovation ecosystem and venture capital opportunities can be found on the TEDCO Maryland YouTube channel. The expo marks a coordinated effort by state leaders and the private sector to consolidate the region as a center for technological development and economic inclusion.
