Smart home manufacturers continue to refine how consumers monitor property from within their homes. Anker has released the Eufy Window Camera E10, a device designed to view yards and driveways through glass windows. The product positions itself as an indoor unit that captures exterior scenes, avoiding the weatherproofing requirements of traditional outdoor cameras.
The camera attaches to the interior surface of a window using a provided mounting sticker. This placement aims to minimize glare and reflections from the glass. Anker states that the physical installation takes less than a minute to complete. The device is available now for $79.99 through Anker's online store and Amazon. This price is more than double the $34.98 cost of the Wyze Window Cam, which launched nearly a year ago.
Anker attributes the higher price to specific hardware upgrades. The E10 records video at a maximum resolution of 2.5K, specifically 2,688 by 1,520 pixels. It captures footage at 15 frames per second. By comparison, the competing Wyze model is limited to 1080p resolution. The E10 also features a wider field of view, offering 105 degrees horizontally and 57 degrees vertically. A wheel on the back of the unit allows users to manually tilt the camera by 25 degrees, which helps frame upper floors or specific areas of interest.
The system includes color night vision and AI-powered motion detection. Software filters alerts to distinguish between humans, animals, and vehicles, reducing the number of notifications sent to the user. A built-in microphone captures audio, though the source notes that sound quality is limited because the camera sits behind glass. It is best suited for recording louder noises rather than subtle conversations.
For storage, users can insert a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256GB for local recording. An optional cloud subscription service is also available for those who prefer off-device backup. The device does not contain a rechargeable battery. Installers must route a power cord to keep the camera connected, which may require hiding the cable to maintain the appearance of the window.
The camera remains a wired indoor device despite its outdoor focus. Its primary advantage over the lower-priced Wyze alternative is the higher resolution and manual tilt adjustment. Buyers must weigh the $45 price difference against the 2.5K video quality and the need for a visible power source.
